PROMOTION OF THE ST. SAVA PRIZE WINNERS

The biggest educational award - St Sava Prize for special results and contributions in the development of education in Serbia, during the last year from 424 works and proposals, 20 institutions and individuals got these prizes. Very strict criteria for prize giving – criteria by which the Commission for Ministry of education, science and technological development was working with, this year fulfilled also three candidates from Nis: `Desanka Maksimovic` elementary school- Cokot (Palilula municipal territory), as well as individuals-talented pupils Djodje Davidovic and Teodora Djordjevic. DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL CENTERS PROGRAMME

Within the project `Development of social centers in south east of Serbia`, implemented by the Society for the development of children and young people, in NKC hall one day workshop with the theme `DEVELOPMENT OF SOCIAL CENTER PROGRAMME` was organized. The general aim of this project of the Open Club, supported by Palilula Municipality, is the contribution to the development of Developmental-education centers as nets of separate social centers (in seven regional municipalities - Pirot, Prokuplje, Lebane, Bojnik, Surdulica, Vladičin Han, Palilula, that all respond to the needs of local communities over the reaching of community members and giving support, directing its work to innovative developmental and educational services.

PROPOSED THE LAW ON CITIES PASSING

City and city municipalities in Nis have to go together with the stream of time and maximally and efficiently fulfill all the needs and citizens expectations. That is why the initiative is rounded at the meeting of the presidents of the assemblies of City Municipalities of the City of Nis with Phd Mile Ilic for bringing the Law on cities with which the transfer of the part of Republic authorities to the cities and cities and city municipalities and local community office buildings will take place. ST SAVA DAY - CELEBRATED SPIRITUALITY AND SAINT DAY OF SCHOOLS

On this occasion, according to the tradition, many manifestation in Nis and Palilula were organized. First, on Friday, January 25, in the hall of Symphony Orchestra building, the traditional Saint Sava concert of teachers choir `Lira` in Nis was organized, and on Saturday, in Puppets Theater, the celebration of Savindan took place. On the Day of Saint Sava, on Sunday, in the organization of the Eparchy of Nis and His Holiness, the Archbishop of Nis Dr. Jovan, in the Amy Hall of Nis, Sant Sava Academy was organized. In the elementary school Desanka Maksimovic, the pupils and teachers of this school prepared the celebration programme.

REPAIRED SUBSTATION IN THE SETTLEMENT AROUND OLD CEMETERY

Residents of the settlement around Old Cemetery in Palilula Municipality after many months of work got, in the end of January, repaired substation Centar 1 of 12,5 power MVA for usage, since the supplying with the old one of eight MVA was difficult, specially in winter period. According to Dragoslav Pavlovic words, technical manager of Elektrodistribucija Nis, households of this part of Municipality of Palilula will have much better supply and will not be coming to heavy damages anymore. He emphasized that the tendency of economical society `Jugoistok` is the reconstruction of all power stations of dispute and complete automation with which will be provide supplying without problems in the whole territory of Nis.
